May 30 – June 3, 2012 at the New Stage of National Theatre took place a five-day theater workshop for young amateur Roma and non-Roma actors led by Finnish Roma writer and director Veijo Baltzar as a part of project Theatre of the Nations: Roma on New Stage. Results of the workshop were presented in public performance called Sny (Dreams) in the auditorium 3.6.2012.
In the framework of the theatrical workshop young actors met and tried to find a way towards a "multiethnical theatre". It worked with the texts issued from the literary workshop which was held in April 2012.
Veijo Baltzar (*1942) is a Finnish-Romani writer and director, founder and head of IRWA (International Roma Writers` Association). He wrote his first novel The Burning Road at the age of 24 and raised sensation - it was the first book about Roma written by a Romani guy. In 1976 Baltzar founded the theatre group Drom to explore the possibilities of multiethnical approach towards theatre
