Four Finnish entries awarded for innovation in Prague

Four Finnish entries were awarded for innovation at the Quality Innovation Award ceremony, held at the Michna Palace in Prague on February 2. The main prize, ”Innovation of Innovations”, went to the Swedish entry Volvo.

Finns did well in the categories of business innovations, where TripleWin Oy and Metsä Fibre Oy were successful, as well as in the categories of public sector innovations, were the City of Espoo was awarded in two different categories. TripleWin’s winning entry NOOA is a digital platform for companies’ change management. Metsä Fibre Oy was awarded with their new operating model ”Factories of the future” based on shared leadership and self-management of the personnel. The City of Espoo was awarded for their entries “School as a service” and for their home care software robot “Ropsu”.

The aim of the Quality Innovation Award competition is to raise awareness of innovations and support international cooperation. This year the competition was held for the 10th time. The competition was organized by Excellence Finland (Laatukeskus) in cooperation with corresponding institutions from other participating countries.

Having roots in Finland, the Quality Innovation Award competition has got more and more international over just a few years, proving the fact that Finns are trusted and natural players when it comes to innovation.

The awards to the Finnish victors were handed out by Ambassador of Finland to the Czech Republic, Mrs. Helena Tuuri. The diplomas had been signed by the President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö.
